Football United, a social enterprise that aims to support the development of footballers of all ages and abilities, will open its second centre in Auckland this month.
The new centre, at the Auckland Football Centre on Webster's Park, will open its doors on February 27, in time for the first season of Football United's Auckland region.
Aimed at men and women aged 6-17, the centre is set up to help players reach their goals and support them in their journey to success.
As well as a goal-oriented sports development programme, participants will also be offered educational and professional development, and a support programme for parents, teachers and coaches.
"Being able to offer participants a high quality coaching programme that also offers them a range of educational options, including certificate courses in maths and literacy, will enable participants to set themselves apart from their peers," Mr Harland said.
"We're looking forward to being a part of Auckland football and helping those who want to get into the sport as well as supporting those who are already involved in the game.
"With a large team of volunteer coaches and an experienced staff, we're confident that we can help the region reach its potential."
Mr Harland said the majority of the services provided will be free.
"We will be on hand to help participants in any way we can," he said.
"But even without this support, each of our participants will take a step towards achieving their own goals, whether it be through social and sporting activities, through education and personal development, or through the weekly coaching and game-based activities that make up our sessions."
The new centre will provide children and teens with up to three hours per week of coaching, training and educational opportunities in a safe environment.
